Kevin "Coach Sat" Saterfield is a transformational leader whose life's work has been dedicated to one mission: empowering people to become the best versions of themselves. The name "Coach Sat" was born in 2009 when Kevin began his coaching career alongside Coach Earl White at Thurgood Marshall — and it has followed him ever since, not just because of what he accomplished on the field, but because of the lives he changed off of it.
On the field, Coach Sat built a legacy of excellence. He led teams to multiple City Championships and captured a State Championship in 2017 with Trotwood High School, establishing himself as one of the most respected voices in Dayton-area athletics. But for Kevin, football was always about more than wins and losses — it was a vehicle for teaching discipline, accountability, resilience, and belief in something bigger than yourself.
"My mother's fight taught me that addiction doesn't define a person. Recovery is possible when you have the right environment, the right support, and someone who refuses to give up on you."
Off the field, Kevin deepened his impact through years of direct service to the community. He served as a Youth Specialist with Montgomery County and worked as a Youth Resource Officer for Dayton Public Schools, spending years mentoring, guiding, and advocating for young people navigating some of life's toughest circumstances. These roles gave Kevin an intimate understanding of the systemic challenges facing at-risk populations — and they sharpened his ability to lead with both compassion and structure.
In 2022, Kevin expanded his reach by opening group homes for children, providing stable and nurturing environments for youth in need. Every experience — from the sidelines to the classroom to the group home — prepared him for the most personal mission of his career.
Tina Marie's Recovery Home is Kevin's tribute to his mother. Having watched her battle addiction and ultimately achieve sobriety, he built this organization so that others could find the same path she did — a path toward healing, purpose, and a life worth living. The name "Coach Sat" represents everything this organization stands for: coaching people through their hardest moments, believing in them when they can't believe in themselves, and never giving up.
